Rigging Help For Goat Sacrificing
When Randy joined this family business, he knew sometimes that he would have to go the extra mile for clients.but he never imagined it would involve a goat sacrifice.
Hear it in Randy’s own words:
We had a shipping line close by our business. The manager of the terminal was stressed out that the vessel docked at his main pier wanted to sail off early. Not only this, but the on-board crane had been damaged by their shipping company.
Drawing upon 90 years of combined rigging knowledge, we were able to repair the lattice in the boom without the time-consuming and expensive strategy the local shipyards were pushing.
But then there was another problem. Consolidated Rigging had sold a very large order to a local ship chandler that was to go aboard the vessel along with other deck work.
However, it turned out the vessel was in a hurry to sail to another nearby port. Our order with the chandler along with the other deck work might have been going down the drain.
When I asked about why the ship was in such a hurry to leave, I was informed that the chief mate and other key staff needed to perform a religious devotion that involved a goat sacrifice. And the only place they found to make such arrangements was in the other port.
So I contacted some friends who owned a large ranch in a nearby county and told them about the problem. They were able to provide the goat and land to satisfy the demands of the crew (all in accordance with local statues and due prudence and humanity).
I didn’t attend, but I hear all went well.
